Born in Pathanamthitta District, Kerala, Captain Raju is a Malayalam film actor known for playing character roles and also a villain. He has even starred in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and English language films. Raju debuted with the Malayalam movie Raktham in 1981. His notable works include movies like August 1 (1988), Nadodikkattu (1987), Simon Peter Ninakku Vendi (1988), Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha (1989), Chakravarthy (1991), My Dear Karady (1999), War & Love (2003), and Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja (2009). He made his directorial debut with the movie Itha Oru Snehagatha, released in 1997. He has also appeared in several TV serials like Nizhalukal (Asianet), Unniyarcha (Asianet), Crime Branch (Kairali TV), Vallarpadathamma (Shalom) and the show Airtel Challenge as Quiz master on Jeevan TV. His 2017 acting venture includes the Malayalam movie Chodhyam, under the direction of G. S. Vijayan, starring Rashin Rahman and Rupini in lead roles. His 2019 release includes Valiyaperunnal.
