An American film writer, Carey Hayes is noted for his works in Hollywood with his twin brother, Chad Hayes. Along with his brother, Carey made his debut as a writer in a feature film with The Dark Side of the Moon in 1990 and over the years, he has written for more than 10 films and many TV films and TV series'. Some of his notable film credits include First Target (2000), House of Wax (2005), The Reaping (2007), The Conjuring (2013), The Conjuring 2 (2016) and The Crucifixion (2017), a horror mystery thriller directed by Xavier Gens.

Apart from films, Carey has also written for many TV series' and produced TV movies. Some of his notable credits as a producer include The Crow: Stairway to Heaven (1998), Horse Sense (1999), Jumping Ship (2001), and First Shot (2002).
