Celine Sciamma is a French screenwriter, director and social activist. She made her debut in 2007 with the movie Water Lilies. Primarily focussing on subjects of sexuality and gender fluidity in women, her other credits include Tomboy (2011) and Girlhood (2014). She simultaneously worked on screenwriting for other directors, including Andre Techine`s Being 17 (2016). In 2018 she directed Portrait of a Lady on Fire, which went to receive critical acclaim and several awards.
