Champa Shetty`s journey in Kannada theatre began in 1991 and has evolved as an actor and director. Her expressive voice skills offered her a career as a voice artist and she has lent her voice to major characters. She was awarded the Best Dubbing Artist, Karnataka state award in the year 2007-08. Champa`s debut as a director with Ammachi Yemba Nenapu (2020). She then directed Koli Esru (2024).
