Chandrasish Ray, who honed his craft over nine years as Assistant and later Associate Director to National Award-winning filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly, makes his directorial debut with Nirontor (The Prologue) - a film he also penned. His acclaimed short Dugga (2017) earned recognition across Indian festivals and featured in the Indian Panorama (Non-Feature) section at IFFI, Goa. His second feature film, Porshi, was awarded Best Film in the Bengali Panorama Competition at KIFF (2025). With Vijaynagar'er Hirey, Chandrasish reimagines Kakababu for a new generation - fusing literary legacy with contemporary cinematic vision. His storytelling balances thrill and intellect with emotional depth, expanding the Kakababu universe into an ambitious spectacle.
