Charles Dickens was an English writer and social critic, best-known for creating the fictional characters and is regarded as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era. His works has been adapted in more than 300 movies and series such as A Christmas Carol, Scrooged and Oliver!. Dickens died of a stroke in Kent, England, leaving his final novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, unfinished in 1870 at the age of 56.
