College friends Chinar Kharkar and Mahesh Ogale came together to form the musical duo Chinar-Mahesh, starting with the 2004 movie Oti Krishnamaichi. Primarily associated with the Marathi film industry, Chinar and Mahesh went on to compose the music of Munnabhai S.S.C, Sharyat, Khel Mandala, and Uchala Re Uchala.

However, the duo garnered widespread recognition for their work in Ravi Jadhav`s 2013 comedy-drama Balak Palak. Following Balak Palak, Chinar-Mahesh collaborated with Ravi Jadhav on his other successful projects - Timepass and Timepass 2, both of which were commercially successful movies. Among the duo`s other projects are Urfi, Carry On Deshpande, Bhetali Tu Punha, Vitthala Shappath, and Yuntum. Their 2018 releases include Shikari, Maska, 31 Divas and Shubh Lagna Savadhan. Their 2020 release includes Choricha Mamla.
