Globally beloved for his portrayal of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Chris Hemsworth is an Australian actor. He first rose to prominence courtesy of his portrayal of the character Kim Hyde in the Australian soap opera Home and Away, and subsequently made his Hollywood debut with the film
Star Trek in 2009.
Following appearances in movies like A Perfect Getaway (2009) and Cash (2010), Hemsworth was cast in the titular role in the MCU movie Thor (2011), which marked a turning point in his career. The enormous success of the film, coupled with the rise of MCU as an international phenomenon, established Hemsworth as a household name around the world. He subsequently reprised the role in blockbusters like
