Best known for portraying the Ninth Doctor Who in the popular sci-fi TV show, Christopher Eccleston is an English actor. He started his acting career in 1991 with Peter Medak's crime-drama, Let Him Have It. Eccleston's first big break came with his recurring role as DCI David Bilborough on the hit British crime TV show, Cracker (1993-1996). Over the years he has acted in movies like Shallow Grave (1994), Jude (1996), Elizabeth (1998), eXistenZ (1999), The Others (2001), 28 Days Later... (2002), Song for Marion (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Legend (2015). On television, Eccleston has acted in shows like Friday on My Mind (1992), Hearts and Minds (1995), Our Friends in the North (1996), Clocking Off (2000-2003), The Second Coming (2003), Heroes (2006-2010), Accused (2010-2012), The Shadow Line (2011), Fortitude (2015), The Leftovers (2014) and The A Word (2016). He won the International Emmy Best Actor Award for his role in the crime-drama Accused (2010-2012).
