One of the most popular yesteryear actresses in the industry, Daisy Irani became a household name soon after she entered the industry as a child actor. Her initial work where she mostly played boys in films include Bandish, Jagte Raho, Naya Daur, Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke, Musafir, Sahara, Do Ustad, Dhool Ka Phool, Soorat Aur Seerat and Chandi Ki Diwar, among others.

She took a brief hiatus from films at the age of 21 in 1971, when she got married and returned only in the 1990s with the comedy series Dekh Bhai Dekh. After resuming her work in the industry she featured in character roles in Ahankaar (1995), Aastha: In the Prison of Spring (1997), Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao (2001), the television serial Shararat (2002), Housefull (2010), Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi (2012), and Happy New Year (2014).
