Best-known for his portrayal of Frank Reynolds in television series It`s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2006- ), Danny DeVito is an American actor, director and producer. He made his acting debut on the silver screen with Dreams of Glass (1970), however, he earned prominence on the small screen with the TV series Taxi (1978-1983), which garnered him an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. The actor, then, appeared in several films and TV series like One Flew Over The Cuckoo`s Nest (1975), Car Wash (1976), Terms of Endearment (1983), Romancing the Stone (1984), and Ruthless People (1986). Having appeared over fifty films and television series, his significant works are Renaissance Man (1994), Drowning Mona (2000), and Be Cool (2005). He has also lent his voice in animated films like The Lorax (2012), Aminal Crachers (2017), Smallfoot (2018) and Dumbo (2019).
Meanwhile, DeVito made his directorial debut with Throw Momma from the Train (1987). He, along with his wife actress Rhea Perlman established a production company called Jersey Films, which is credited for producing a host of successful titles like Pulp Fiction (1994), The War of the Roses (1989), Matilda (1996), Man on the Moon (1999) and Erin Brockovich (2000).
