About
Sir David Frederick Attenborough is an English broadcaster, writer and natural historian, who, over the years, has gained recognition world over for his educational TV programs. He is best known for his nine-part TV series, made along with the BBC, called the Life collection. The series began with life on Earth in 1979 and ended with Life in Cold Blood in 2008. In 2019 he released the documentary Wild Karnataka, which explores the flora and fauna in the state of Karnataka.

Attenborough has a long history with the BBC. He first started working with them in 1952, when he didn`t even own a TV of his own. Over the years he went from producer to controller to director of programming for BBC Television, but his passion for making nature documentaries and films remained. Apart from his iconic Life series, which went on to influence millions, he was involved with numerous other documentaries too. He has written and/or narrated documentaries including Planet Earth (2006), Great Barrier Reef (2015), and BBC`s TV series called Wildlife on One which ran from 1977 to 2005.

Attenborough`s influence has been felt worldwide, earning him titles like `the greatest broadcaster in the world`. Apart from numerous honorary titles and even new species named after him, Attenborough has won BAFTAs for programmes in black and white, colour, HD, 3D and 4K. His work has set a benchmark for wildlife films that is yet to be challenged.
