David Beckham is a former English professional footballer, model and actor. Widely regarded as one of the greatest English footballers to grace the game, he is a British cultural icon with an unrivalled global fan base. In the course of a sporting career that spanned over two decades, Beckham became the first English player to win league titles in four countries. He was also a two-time runner up for FIFA World Player of the Year award and was named by Pele in his FIFA 100 list of the world’s greatest living players in 2004. The midfielder announced his retirement from professional football in 2013, and has since appeared in minor roles in the Guy Ritchie films The Man from U.N.C.L.E (2015) and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017). Beckham is also known for his charity work, and has been a UNICEF UK ambassador since 2005.
