David Hirschfelder was born on 18 November 1960 in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia is an Australian musician and film composer. He started his composition from the TV series Skirts in 1990. His major break was in 1999 the score for Elizabeth and was the composer for the opening ceremony of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. He is known for scores in films Strictly Ballroom, Shine, Sliding Doors, Hanging Up, and Australia. His 2019 release includes Ride Like A Girl, directed by Rachel Griffiths.
