David Kelly was an Irish actor. He had regular roles in many films and television works from the 1950s onwards. He was one of the noticeable voices and faces of Irish stage and screen. He was well known to the Irish audiences as Rashers Tierney in Strumpet City, and well known to the British audiences as Cousin Enda in Me Mammy. He was best known for his role as Grandpa Joe in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He died after a short illness in 2012.
