David Ried is an actor, director, and producer who primarily works in Hollywood and American TV industry. Having started his career as the assistant director, he made his debut in a feature film as the second assistant director in Great Moment in Aviation (1944), he later on assisted several directors and worked in films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), Four Play (2001), Layer Cake (2004) and Kick-Ass 2 (2013). Having worked for a significant period in the film industry, Reid, the director-turned-producer made his debut as a producer with The Bunker (2001) where he as the co-producer (2001). Few of his other notable production ventures include Freebird (2008), Kick-Ass 2 (2013), and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017), an action spy comedy directed by Matthew Vaughn.

In 2019, he was associated with the musical biography Rocketman. Directed by Dexter Fletcher, starring Taron Egerton in prominent role.
