David Robert Mitchell is an American film director and writer. He made his debut with the coming-of-age drama The Myth of the American Sleepover. However, it was his second venture horror Thriller It Follows that gave his career breakthrough. The film was, both critically and commercially hit.

His other projects include a modern comedy-drama Under the Silver Lake (2018) starring Andrew Garfield.
