Primarily an executive producer in the Indian film industry, Deepak Gawade recently made his foray into direction. His directorial debut Heyro Party (2013) won the National Award for Best Non Feature Film on Family Welfare. In 2017, he released his debut Marathi film, Idak: The Goat. The film depicts a man and a goat going on a journey, and the inevitable friendship that follows. It was even selected for the Cannes International Film Festival in 2018. As a producer, he is known for movies like Ghajini (2008), Special 26 (2013), and M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). He works for both Hindi and Marathi movies, and believes that content is the life of regional cinema. His 2019 releases include The Sky Is Pink, a love story spanning 25 years.
