About
In a film career spanning over four decades, English artist Dexter Fletcher has made his mark in cinema both as a versatile actor and accomplished filmmaker. He debuted as a child actor in the musical gangster comedy Bugsy Malone (1976), and has since appeared in over 50 features and several tv shows, both in leading and supporting roles. Some of Fletcher's best known acting credits include the drama film Caravaggio (1986) where he essayed the titular role, The Rachel Papers (1989), the crime comedy Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), the crime film Layer Cake (2004) and the superhero black comedy film Kick-Ass (2010).

In 2011, the actor made his directorial debut with the crime comedy-drama Wild Bill, which he also wrote. The film was well-received by the critics and earned Fletcher a BAFTA Award nomination for Outstanding Directorial Debut that year. He has since helmed the musical Sunshine on Leith (2013) and the Hugh Jackman starrer Eddie the Eagle (2016); both of which received critical acclaim. Other notable directorial credits include the biographical drama Bohemian Rhapsody (2018 - uncredited) and Rocketman (2019), which is based on the life of celebrated musician Elton John.
