Music composer and playback singer Dhanraj Manickam made his foray into the film industry with debutant director Vetri Mahalingam's family drama Vennila Veedu in 2014. The next year, in 2015, he was associated with the comedy crime-thriller Soan Papdi, which featured Krishna Priya, Niranjana, and Shree in lead roles. Among his other projects are the 2016 romantic drama Tea Kadai Raja and the 2018 drama Visiri.
