Dhir was born and brought up in Bombay. His grandmother, who was a Hindustani Classical Vocalist, was a very strong influence on him at an early age. Watching his grandmother's concert what fascinated him the most was the Tabla. His deep-rooted love for rhythm motivated him to pursue drums and percussion, but much later. His journey in music began in 2006. He has been playing and teaching drums and percussions since 2011. He has played at Cafe Zoey, I bar and private parties with various DJs form Mumbai. His new setup includes percussions primarily rooted from West Africa. He has played at various prestigious events across country like NH7, Damru and Ustad Allah Rakhas Birthday Celebration with his percussion outfit, Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble. He has gotten a chance to share stage with great musicians like Fazal Qureshi, Taufiq Qureshi, Sivamani to name a few. He is a session artiste and has played with various bands across the country live, and has also recorded in studios for films. He was recently featured with funk fusion outfit Empty cafe at Blue Frog for Leapfrog with MTV Coke Studio Season 3.
