Born in 1943, Dileep Jhaveri is a well-known Gujarati poet and playwright. He has published books and plays that are well appreciated in the industry. He has published his poems in form of the book Pandukavyo AneItar (1989) and a play called Vyaasochchvas (2003) which has been translated into several anthologies of Indian and Asian languages. His works has also been translated to Irish by the eminent poet Gabriel Rosenstock. He has been awarded with the Gujarati SahityaParishad Award (1990), Jayant Pathak Award for Poetry (1989) and has also received the Critics Award (1989). He has also read his poems in several places like Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, USA, Korea and Indonesia. Currently, Dileep Jhaveri serves on the editorial board of a Kolkata based bilingual journal Kobita Review and is a contributing editor of Muse India (Gujarati) apart from being a prfessional general physician.
