Prominent for playing the character of Boy George in the 2010 television film Worried About the Boy, Douglas Booth is an English actor, who is known for his movie and television appearances. He started his movie career in 2006 with Hunters of the Kahri, and then worked in the British fantasy drama From Time to Time, directed by Julian Fellowes. One of his notable movie appearances was in Romeo & Juliet (2013), a film adaptation of William Shakespeare`s romantic tragedy of the same name. Booth played the lead role of Romeo Montague in the movie, with Hailee Steinfeld portraying the character of Juliet Capulet. He then went on to star in the epic biblical drama Noah (2014) as Shem, Noah`s son. He later collaborated with director Burr Steers for his 2016 British-American historical horror comedy Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, in which he was seen in the character of Mr. Bingley. Booth was also appreciated for his performance as Dan Leno in the British horror-mystery The Limehouse Golem (2016), starring him as one of the leads opposite Bill Nighy and Olivia Cooke. The actor`s 2017 venture includes the biographical animated drama Loving Vincent, which revolves around the life of painter Vincent van Gogh. Written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, the movie features Booth in the role of Armand Roulin and Robert Gulaczyk as Vincent van Gogh. His other notable works include Mary Shelley (2017), The Dirt (2019), My Salinger Year (2020), Unwelcome (2023) and Shoshana (2023).
