Edathody Bhaskaran is a producer and actor who entered the Malayalam film industry with the action crime thriller film "Kirata".
A native of Ottapalam, Palakkad, Edathody Bhaskaran has been working in the Gulf for over four and a half decades. Working in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, he is actively involved in the social service, arts, and culture sectors. Having held high positions in the Gulf chapters of the World Malayali Council, he served as the patron of the Bahrain chapter of Blood Donors Kerala. He was awarded the "Pravasi Bharati Shiromani Puraskar" by the Institute of Economic Studies in India.
He has also produced four notable short films which received significant appreciation in the Gulf and Kerala: "Stars in the Darkness", "Achan Mash", "Stalemate", and "Faces in Phases".
He is survived by his wife Chandramathy; his children, Kiran Bhaskaran and Arun Bhaskaran; his daughter-in-law, Theertha Kiran; and his granddaughter, two-year-old Kaashvi Kiran.
