A chef by qualification, Edward Sonnenblick chose to give up his seventeen-year-long career as a chef in order to pursue his career in Bollywood and moved to Mumbai with just a weathered copy of Teach Yourself Hindi and dreams of being the next Tom Alter. He started his career with modeling before he was seen in the John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Dostana in 2008.

After making a debut with a rather insignificant role, Sonnenblick was roped in to play the role of Captain Manson in the epic historical drama series called Jhansi Ki Rani, which he was a part of for two years. Among his other movie credits are Anjaana Anjaani, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Neerja, Kapoor & Sons, Rangoon, Raag Desh, and Firangi. In 2017, he was also seen playing the role of Hamish McCall in Amazon Prime Video`s web series Inside Edge. His other movies include Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2018), Veere Di Wedding (2019) and Kesari (2019).
