Elmer Bernstein was an American film music composer and conductor. In his career span of 50 years, he composed music for hundreds of films and television. His popular scores include The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Ten Commandments (1956), The Great Escape (1963), To Kill A Mockingbird (1963), Ghostbusters (1984), The Black Cauldron (1985), and Devil in a Blue Dress (1992). He won an Oscar for the movie Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967). Elmer Bernstein passed away in August 2004.
