Filmmaker and producer Elred Kumar first forayed into Kollywood in 2010, by bankrolling the acclaimed romantic drama Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Subsequently, he produced movies like Ko (2011) and Veppam (2011) before making his directorial debut with the romantic thriller Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012). Other significant film credits as a producer include Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012), Yaamirukka Bayamey (2014), Ko 2 (2016) and Veera (2018).
