Emerald Fennell (born October 1, 1985) is an English Writer, Director, and Actor recognized for creating provocative, darkly comedic works exploring themes of revenge, class, and gender. She gained international acclaim for her feature directorial debut, Promising Young Woman (2020), which won her an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. In 2023, she continued her success as a Writer, Director, and Producer for the psychological thriller Saltburn (2023) and made a cameo as an Actor in the blockbuster Barbie (2023). Most recently, in 2026, she wrote, directed, and produced a stylised, gothic reimagining of Wuthering Heights (2026).
