Before becoming an award-winning screenwriter, Eregowda worked as a security guard at an automobile store in Mysore. He began working with social worker Anita Reddy after he moved to Bengaluru. Upon learning his keen interest in filmmaking, Anita provided with an opportunity to document the activities of NGOs around the city. After her son, Raam Reddy, returned from Prague, Eregowda became a part of Raam's short film Eka as a scriptwriter. Following this, he wrote the script of Reddy's National Film Award-winning movie Thithi in 2016.
