Ezhil is a popular director, writer and actor who primarily works in the Tamil film industry. The director made his debut with 1999 romantic blockbuster Thulladha Manamum Thullum starring Vijay and Simran. The film won him his maiden Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film. After the huge success of his debut film, he subsequently directed films like Poovellam Un Vasam (2001), Raja (2002), Desingu Raja (2013), Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran (2016) and Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen (2017).
