Bangladeshi director Fakhrul Arefeen Khan started his career as a film activist in 1997. He made his first documentary Al-Badar in 2008, which made him the recipient of the prestigious National Award for Best Documentary. He then moved on to direct two other documentaries Hawker Ghar (2013) and The Speech (2010), both of which were critically acclaimed. Bhuban Majhi (2018) is his first venture as a director of a full-length feature film.
