An English-born American artist, Frank Oz is a multi-talented personality, he is a puppeteer, filmmaker and an actor. Having started his career as a puppeteer, Oz, performed the Muppet characters like Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and Sam Eagle in The Muppet Show. The veteran actor is also quite popular for being the voice behind the famous character, `Yoda` in the Star Wars films.
After living in England and Belgium, Oz and his family moved to Montana, USA in 1951 and later settled in Oakland, California. After completing his college from Oakland City College, Oz started worked as an apprentice puppeteer at the Children`s Fairyland and later worked with Vagabond Puppets, where he received training under the tutelage of Lettie Connell.
Oz, after worked as a puppeteer, he made his acting debut with the TV show, Sesame Street in 1969 before eventually getting his big break with The Muppet Show (1976-1981). His other popular TV credits include Jim Henson`s Animal Show (1994), Cinder Elmo (1999), Leverage (2011) and Star Wars Rebels (2015-16).
The multi-talented star forayed into feature films with The Muppet Movie (1979) where the lent his voice for several characters and also worked as a creative consultant. His other notable film credits include The Blues Brothers (1980), Trading Places (1983), Labyrinth (1986), Innocent Blood (1992),
Monsters, Inc. (2001), I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story (2014), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and
Knives Out (2019).
