Screenwriter and filmmaker Fred Dekker is known primarily for his association with the horror comedy genre, and for penning and directing the cult classic horror comedy Night of the Creeps (1986). Other notable writing credits include The Monster Squad (1987) and Robocop 3 (1993), both of which he also directed.

Besides his work in movies, Dekker has also been associated with tv shows like Tales from the Crypt (1989-'96) and Star Trek: Enterprise (2001-'05). In 2018, he co-wrote the screenplay for the sci-fi action film The Predator with his friend and frequent collaborator Shane Black.
