Having started playing the harmonium, without receiving any formal training, since he was a child, Gandhaar has always wanted to be a music composer. At the young of 12, Gandhaar composed his first tune. He went on to receive professional training in playing the sitar from Pt. Shekhar Ranade. Soon, he started composing music for commercial and experimental plays along with short films and a handful of jingles.

Making his feature film debut, Gandhaar lent his voice to the song 'Kashas Ghai' from the movie Hou De Jarasa Ushir in 2013. Following this, he made his debut as a composer with Postcard in 2014. Among his other movie credits are Avatarachi Goshta, Baapjanma, and Youngraad.
