Award-winning cinematographer and painter Gnana Shekar has helmed the camera department for a number of popular movies across Telugu, Tamil and Hindi cinema. He is perhaps best known for his work in movies like Kanche (2015) and Gautamiputra Satakarni (2017); the former won him a Nandi Award while the latter a SIIMA Award for Best Cinematographer. A reputed painter whose works have been exhibited at several prestigious galleries, Gnana Shekar`s cinematography is equally unique.

Besides his work in cinema, the cinematographer has also been associated with numerous internationally acclaimed short films and documentaries, notable among which are Anirban Dutta`s Tetris (2006), Shyamal Karmakar`s Setu (2007) and Chronicles of a Temple Painter (2014). Other significant movie credits include Vedam (2010), the Assamese film Maj Rati Keteki (2015), the space film Antariksham 9000 kmph (2018), the biographical drama NTR: Kathanayakudu (2019), its sequel NTR: Mahanayakudu (2019) and the historical drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019).
