Gollapudi Maruthi Rao is an Indian film actor, screenwriter and journalist who works predominantly in Telugu film industry. He has acted in over 230 Telugu movies. He was a member of the Script Scrutiny Committee ofNational Film Development Corporation. Rao was awarded Nandi Award in best story writer for Athma Gauravam and Nandi Award in best story writer for Prema Pusthakam.
