Born in Tehran, Iran, Golshifteh is an Iranian singer and actor, known for international films like Santouri (The Santoor Player), Half Moon (winner of the Golden Shell at the 2006 San Sebastian Film Festival), and M for Mother, for which she was nominated for the 2008 Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Her 2017 release includes the fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series-Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar`s Revenge. Directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, the film stars Johnny Depp, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, Kevin McNally, Geoffrey Rush, and Orlando Bloom in pivotal roles.
