Gopi Kishan was an Indian dancer, actor and choreographer born on August 22, 1935 in Calcutta, India. Krishna married Savitri in 1954 and had a daughter Shampa Sonthalia in 1980, who is also a choreographer. He also received the title of Natraj at the All Bengal Music Conference at the age of 15. Krishna also became the youngest choreographer when he was hired for a film as a choreographer at the age of 17. In 1975 the Indian government awarded him India's fourth highest civilian award, the “Padma Shri”. Krishna died on February 18, 1994 when he had a heart stroke.
