One of the most prolific films directors, Gurinder Chadha is an English director of Indian origin. Best known for making films that explores the lives of the Indian living overseas and the trials faced by Indian women in England, Chadha's films are much loved by the Indian audience both in India and abroad. Another distinguished feature of her films is that most of her works are adaptation from books but with a different flare. Having made her directorial debut with the TV film I'm British But... (1989), she got wide fame and recognition for Bend It Like Beckham (2002). Her other notable directorial ventures include The Mistress of Spices (2005), Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008), It's a Wonderful Afterlife (2010) and Viceroy's House (2017), a British-Indian historical drama directed by Gurinder Chadha
