Habib Wahid is a Bangladeshi music composer and singer, predominantly known for his fusion of traditional Bengali folk music with contemporary techno and urban beats. Son of the 70s pop singer and musician, Ferdous Wahid, Habib`s music is influenced by British Bangladeshis. He made his debut with the album, Krishno (2003), a mix of folk and modern electronic music, a new genre introduced to the Dhaka music arena. Following the success of his first album, Habib went on to release six more over the next few years Maya (2004), Moina Go (2005), Shono (2006), Panjabiwala (2007), Bolchi Tomake (2008) and Obosheshe (2008). He showcased vocalists like Kaya, Helal, Julee, Nirjhor, Shireen and Nancy in his albums. As a vocalist himself, Habib performed the singles Din Gelo and Esho Brishti Namai. Later, he released the albums, Ahoban (2011) and Shadhin (2012). He is also popularly known for creating jingles for brands like Banglalink, Citycell, Pran-up, Meril Beauty Soap and more. Some of the films Habib has composed music for include Hridoyer Kotha, Akash Chowa Bhalobasha, Chandragrohon, I Love You, Eito Prem, Third Person Singular Number, Amar Ache Joel and Projapoti among others. He performed his first concert in Melbourne in 2012, followed by another in Sydney the same year.
Habib has composed for the upcoming film, Sweet Heart, which is slated for a February 2016 release.
