He has been credited as a musician for over 26 films and his notable works include The Iron Giant (1999), The Godfather: Part III (1990) and Independence Day (1996). He is the Judge of American Idol. He has won two Primetime Emmy Awards and has also been nominated for three other awards. He married Jill Goodacre and has three children.
