Harry Davenport was an American film and stage actor, who has acted in showbiz from the age of six till his demise. After a long and decisive career, he went to Hollywood in the 1930s and appeared in films like Gone with the Wind, Meet Me in St. Louis, The Life of Emile Zola and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He was a specialist in playing the characters of grandfather, judges, doctors and ministers. Davenport was called as the greatest character actor of all time without any doubt. He died at the age of 83, due to heart attack.
