Harry Styles was in born in Redditch in Worcestershire. His parents, Anne Cox and Desmond Styles separated when he was seven years old. Harry along with his elder sister Gemma was raised by his mother in Cheshire. He attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and worked part-time at the local W. Mandeville Bakery. In school, Harry and his friends formed a band White Eskimo, where Styles was the lead vocalist. He took part in the seventh season of the hit television talent show The X Factor. He sang Stevie Wonder`s Isn`t She Lovely and made it through the auditions. He didn`t make it to the finals but a twist of fate brought him back to the show as a part of a boy band. Judges Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell put contestants Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne together to form a group act and thus was born One Direction. The band finished third in the competition but won a contract with Simon Cowell`s music label Syco. 1D released their debut album Up All Night in 2011 which became a best seller in major countries. Their debut single What Makes You Beautiful became the most pre-ordered single by Sony Music Entertainment. One Direction released four more albums thereafter, Take Me Home (2012 2013), Midnight Memories And This Is Us (2013 2014) and Where We Are And Who We Are (Present 2014). Styles the lead vocalist, became a heartthrob thanks to his boyish charm. He regards Elvis Presley and The Beatles as his musical influences.
In 2017, Styles appeared as an actor in the American war film Dunkirk. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the movie along with him stars Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Kenneth Branagh, James D'Arcy, Barry Keoghan, Aneurin Barnard, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Tom Hardy in important roles.
