About
Best remembered for directing the stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy The Nightmare Before Christmas, Henry Selick studied the Program in Experimental Animation at California Institute of the Arts. After completing his education, she went on to work for a brief period at Walt Disney Studios and was associated with movies such as Pete`s Dragon and The Small One. He then became a full-fledged animator, working under the guidance of Glen Keane on The Fox and the Hound in 1981. Having learnt enough about filmmaking, Selick made his debut as a director in 1991 with The Nightmare Before Christmas. He then went on to direct movies such as Monkeybone, Moongirl, and Coraline.
