Hiam Abbass is an Israeli-Palestinian actress and film director. She made her acting debut with the movie, When the Cat's Away (1996). Over the years Abbass has starred in movies like Ali, Rabiaa et les autres (2000), L'ange de goudron (2001), Red Satin (2002), Bab el shams (2004), Nadia et Sarra (2004) and Paradise Now (2005). She was internationally known when she starred in Steven Spielberg's Munich (2005). Abbass' other acting credits include The Nativity Story (2006), Conversations with My Gardener (2007), The Visitor (2007), Lemon Tree (2008), Dawn of the World (2008), Kandisha (2008), Amreeka (2009), A Bottle in the Gaza Sea (2010), The Source (2011), Games of Clouds & Rain (2013) and In Syria (2017). As a director Abbass has worked on the 2012 movie, Inheritance. She also acted in the movie. In 2017 Abbass starred in Blade Runner 2049, Denis Villeneuve's sequel to the 1982 sci-fi classic, Blade Runner. The movie has Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Robin Wright and Jared Leto in prominent roles.
