Hima Shankar is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in Malayalam films and also has performed in several theatre plays. She made an entry in the industry with the 2010 movie Yugapurushan, under the direction of R. Sukumaran, starring Thalaivasal Vijay and Mammootty. In the same year, she featured in Sufi Paranja Katha, and also the thriller Apoorvaragam, directed by Sibi Malayil. She was then seen in the satirical comedy drama Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty, which follows the life of an innocent girl who participates in a reality show, starring Nithya Menen in the lead role. Hima then went on to feature in the period thriller Iyobinte Pusthakam, which was a huge box office success and received good reviews from critics. Her next was a lead role in Ottakolam, which got her a Special Jury Mention in Vayalar Ramavarma Film and Television Awards. She was then seen in lead roles in the drama Aaradi, about the life of a young Dalit leader of a big political party, followed by director Abhiram Suresh Unnithan`s Himalayathile Kashmalan, which revolves around a man trapped in a situation and how his friends come to his rescue. Hima`s other venture in 2017 includes the thriller Duryodhana, starring her as one of the lead characters opposite Shilpa Sunil and Vinu Raghav, under the direction of Pradosh Mohan. Her 2019 release includes Bhayam.
