Ipshita Chakraborty Singh, graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD) in 2010, specializing in acting. With more than 35 plays in her quiver, her major plays include Mai Hun Yusuf aur Yeh Hai Mera Bhai, Viraasat, Mathemagician, Muktidhaam, and Bandish. She has worked with directors like Anuradha Kapur, Mohit Takalkar, Abhishek Majumdar, Roysten Abel, and many more. She is a recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2022, Manohar Singh Smriti Puraskar for acting, and Tendulkar-Dubey fellowship 2018-19. Her directorial work includes a solo performance, `A girl who shot her doggy`, `Mirage Melodies`, `Kankad`, `Moti aur Kinwad`, `Daayan` and `Zanakhi`. She along with Ajeet Singh Palawat runs the theatre group Ujaagar Dramatic Association.
She has translated/adapted works for stage and online readings. `A Midsummer Night`s Dream` in Marwari as `Kasumal Sapno`. This particular play won accolades and was also performed in Pakistan. `A Bride in the Hand` by Angela Lanyon in Hindi as `Olkhan`, and a short story `Idylle` by Guy de Maupassant in Bangla.
She has appeared in films like Bhonsle, Shakuntala Devi, Chhapaak, Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain, Sacred Games 2 and Dvand: The Internal Conflict.
