Irving Brecher was an American screenwriter, television producer and television and film director who wrote the Marx Brothers and got the sole credit for the film At the Circus and Go West he has numerous credits as a writer like The Wizard of Oz, Shadow of the Thin Man, Ziegfed Follies and Bye Bye Birdie. He has directed movies like Somebody Loves me, Sail a Crooked Ship and The Life of Riley.
