Ishaan Dev, popularly known as Shaan, is a multi-talented artist. Apart from being a music composer Shaan is also a singer, songwriter, music programmer, plays multiple instruments, and is a stage performer. Popularly known for his work in South Indian cinema, Shaan began his career as a playback singer in 2004 with the Malayalam movie Panchajanyam. In the next decade, he was credited with several Malayalam songs from movies such as Shambu (2004), December (2005), Ringtone (2010), and Medulla Oblongata (2014). However, he won the Best Male Playback Singer and Best Male Upcoming Playback Singer Awards at the Mirchi Music Awards South for the song Shyloo from the Kannada movie Shyloo.
Shaan began his composing career in 2005 with the Malayalam movie The Tiger. He also sang one of the songs - Kaliyavishadhara - from the movie. He has since then composed music for several Malayalam movies including The Don (2006), Kerala Cafe (2009), The Thriller (2010), and Crime Story (2012). He made his Kannada debut with the movie Shyloo in 2012 and Tamil debut with the movie Kai Thunindavan (2012). His 2017 projects include the movie Pattinapakkam starring Anaswara Kumar, Kalaiyarasan Harikrishnan, and Chaya Singh. His 2019 venture includes Saaral, directed by DRL. His 2020 release includes Uriyadi.
