J Blakeson is an English screenwriter and director who has helmed films like Pitch Perfect (2005) and The Disappearance Of Alice Creed (2009). He has also served as a writer for films like Vernic (2005), Mist: The Tale Of A Sheepdog Puppy (2006), The Appointment (2009), The Descent: Part 2 (2010) and Reckless (2014). His other directorial venture includes The 5th Wave (2016) and Gunpowder (2017). In 2020, Blakeson has written and directed the black comedy-thriller film I Care a Lot.
